Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone)
Being a certified HUBZone business by the Small Business Administration (SBA), ZIO Technologies is eligible for various contract scenarios under the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).

As a HUBZone business, ZIO can receive sole-source awards if the contracting officer lacks a reasonable expectation that two or more qualified HUBZone small businesses will submit offers. It is crucial to ensure that the selected HUBZone small business is responsible, and the contract can be awarded at a fair price. The government estimate should not exceed $7 million for manufacturing requirements or $4.5 million for all other needs.

Moreover, a competitive HUBZone set-aside contract can be awarded if the contracting officer reasonably expects that at least two responsible HUBZone small businesses will submit offers, and the resulting contract can be awarded at a fair market price.
In addition, set-asides for specific orders within Multiple Award Contracts, awarded through full and open competition, can be created. This allows for flexibility in catering to specific requirements while promoting opportunities for HUBZone small businesses within the broader contract framework.
